PROGRESSES AND STAGNATION ON DELIVERIES OF WAR MATERIALS
FOR ROMANIA AFTER THE SIGNING OF MILITARY CONVENTION
WITH THE ENTENTE

Hadrian GORUN

Abstract:
This study, based especially on the documents studied in the diplomatic and military French archives, tries to demonstrate that the Romanian army’s supply has not been always satisfactory during the following months after Romania’s entry into the war. The 4-th article of the Military Convention stipulated the Entente’s commitment to deliver the necessary ammunitions for Romanian royal army. The settled amount was 300 tones every day. But sometimes the Allies were not able to provide this ammount. Subsequently, because of the lack or the insufficiency of the ammunitions and war materials Romania could not get the fruits of its successes. Its army was forced to make successive withdrawals. The authorities from Bucharest did their best to improve the supply of the troops regarding the artillery materials and planes, weapons, guns, grenades or other types of arms as well.
